Sygic and Sony Ericsson Italy initiated a partnership with introduction of pre-installed Sygic Aura turn-by-turn navigation application into all Sony Ericsson X10 smartphones sold in Italy from February 21^st, 2011.

The navigation application Sygic Aura is now pre-installed in all Android smartphones Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 in Italy. Sygic Aura contains on-board maps of Italy, 3D landmarks and terrain, as well as city guides for the major cities.

With Sygic Aura the user can browse maps, search for addresses and navigate to destinations. The maps are stored on the SD card of the smartphone, and browsing the maps or using the navigation doesn't require data traffic. At no cost at all, Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 becomes a real navigation system and, again at no cost, the users have access to the tourist information of major cities or speed camera locations.

Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 is a premium smartphone that integrates entertainment, communication and social networks. The platform UX (user experience) and the ability of „intelligent“ integrated Mediascape and Timescape ^TM allows users to organize everything easily and find out even more thanks to more open, human-oriented  and intuitive experience.

Thanks to Sygic Aura, Xperia X10 can turn into the most comprehensive navigation device with easy and straightforward user experience. A simple click on the application and following registration with the product code in the box activates the application on the smartphone. It is possible to choose between 2D and 3D map mode. In 3D mode the user can enjoy realistic buildings, landmarks and terrain representation.

While the use of the navigation doesn't require any data communication, additional online location based services allow the user to see what is nearby, check the weather, locate friends or access internet data. In this case, however, the user will need to use the data traffic. The costs depend on the traffic data service plan and the operator.

The application is currently available for Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 in Italy in a limited edition marked with a special sticker on the packaging and dedicated POP materials in the store.  The promotion started on the 21th of February 2011.
