SD Card activation

Overview

Using simple Pocket PC utility, it is possible to automatically connect to our server and generate license for every SD card that is inserted into Pocket PC. This way, you can activate large quantity of SD cards in a short time.

Requirements

1. Prepurchased number of licenses

2. Login and password for our partners extranet website; you have to have the account created by sygic sales team (sales@sygic.com)

3. Pocket PC device that is connected to internet

Instructions

1. Go to www.sygic.com/partners website and login

2. Go to SD card activation

3. Create security code for SD card activation - at the bottom, select time period that you need to activate the cards and click on the button Allow.

   If you want to continue with SD card activation even after expiration of this time period, you will have to generate a new security code at this website.

4. After allowing the SD card activation in the previous step, this page will be updated and will show additional information:
   - how much time is remaining for SD cards activation
   - security password (SD password)

5. Prepare your Pocket PC device for activation:

   - connect the device to internet
   - copy the SD_Activation folder into the memory of the device
   - run Activate.exe in your device

6. In the Pocket PC utility, click on Change Password

7. Rewrite the password from the website to your device

   NOTE: The password might be case sensitive

8. Select your product from the list of Available products

9. Now you are ready to start activation by inserting SD cards into Pocket PC device

   NOTE: You can put a tick in the Activate automatically checkbox if you want to activate every inserted SD card automatically.

10. After activating all the SD cards, you should Disable the SD activation at the website for security reasons.

11. In your Pocket PC device, in the root folder, is created a file activationlog.txt, that contains all the logs.

IMPORTANT: Do not provide your login and password to any website, or person - only to www.sygic.com/partners website

Troubleshooting

This system is based on presumption, that the device is able to get unique SD card ID from the memory card. This should be 100% possible for Pocket PC operating system, and for SD memory cards. Before starting the mass production, make sure, that your memory card (if it's other than SD) and the device where it will be used (if it's other than Pocket PC Windows Mobile) are able to provide/read the unique ID (so that the activation works).
