Key transport technologies Smart cities should look at

In Europe, urban traffic congestion costs the EU nearly 1 percent of its annual GDP and accounts for 40 percent of all CO2 emissions. In the United States, the average commuter spends 42 hours each year stuck in traffic. Statistically, driving in congested conditions increases travel times by a factor of 3-4 and CO2 emission by 80%. And yet, the concentration of cities continues to grow, by 2050 expecting 66% of world population dwelling in cities.

Thankfully, the existing cutting-edge digital technologies offer tremendous potential for solving the traffic issues with the ultimate goal to improve the quality of life in cities when it comes to mobility.
In our whitepaper, Sygic presents technologies important for the transformation of a city into a smart city. Sygic attempts to address all of these technologies with its emerging Smart Mobility Platform.
