02. 04. 2020

The company offers its popular turn-by-turn navigation, which is used for example by St. John Ambulance in Australia or US fire truck maker Pierce Manufacturing for free to fleets and help first-line drivers to during the novel coronavirus outbreak

Navigation vendor Sygic joins global novel coronavirus efforts and is offering free 90-day premium license of Sygic Professional Navigation with accurate live traffic updates for emergency and supply fleets. The smartphone app for Android uses high quality maps that can be downloaded into the device and used without the internet connection.

The 90-day free Sygic Professional Navigation also comes with live traffic updates, which incorporates data from over 500 million vehicles (pre-corona data) and can help truck drivers to avoid border-crossings with high-congestion due to Covid-19 related measures by most countries in Europe.

„First responders, garbage and delivery truck drivers are today an important part of global response against novel coronavirus outbreak. Thanks to them and their service we can get medical attention when we need it, we feel safe at our homes, the streets are clean and we can order supplies from the safety of our houses,“ said Sygic’s Vice president of Enterprise Business unit Miroslav Remecky.

The couriers, garbage collectors, and truck drivers can benefit from adding multiple waypoints, accurate traffic information and tailored routing for the specific type of vehicle, including height, weight, length or number of trailers to avoid narrow roads or low bridges.

„We feel that this is the least we can do,“ added Remecky.

Sygic Professional Navigation can be easily integrated into existing, third-party fleet management solutions. The turn-by-turn navigation with offline maps is available in 40 languages and supports voice commands.

In order to obtain the extended three months trial, fleet operators and system integrators need to activate the premium license on the Sygic website by the end of April 2020. The offer is intended for emergency services without limitations and companies with 30 and more vehicles.
